Spanish Courses

Spanish lessons at Guadalmina Idiomas are developed through a dynamic learning method, with the main objective of integrating oral and written expression and comprehension, while constantly practicing grammar and vocabulary in class through student interaction and group work.

Guadalmina Idiomas follows the stipulations set out in the Instituto Cervantes Curriculum Plan for the distribution of the different levels of Spanish language knowledge, in line with the requirements of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Therefore, our courses are divided into the levels described below.

The duration of our courses is calculated considering the objectives and contents to be achieved at each level.

To access a course at Guadalmina Idiomas for the first time, it is necessary to take a placement/level test, except when starting from complete beginner level (A1). Once the new student level is verified, they are assigned to the corresponding group. The first class at Guadalmina Idiomas is FREE.

At the end of each level, and once the corresponding assessment tests are passed, students obtain a Certificate of Achievement that specifies the level completed and, if required, the course contents and objectives.

How we work in class

Our methodology combines speaking, listening, reading and writing, with continuous grammar and vocabulary practice through real interaction between students.

Before starting, we run a level test (except for absolute beginner A1) to place you in the right group.

Academic plan and assessment

Guadalmina Idiomas follows the Instituto Cervantes curricular guidelines to organize Spanish proficiency levels, aligned with the CEFR.

The duration of each course is calculated according to the objectives and content that must be achieved at each stage.

A1-C2 Levels

Summary of contents by level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Beginner

No prior knowledge required. From day one you begin to speak Spanish, express everyday needs and introduce yourself. Interaction is elementary as long as your interlocutor speaks slowly and clearly.

Pre-intermediate

Learn to describe simple aspects of the past and your environment. Establish short conversations, write postcards and simple letters. Express yourself functionally in present, future and past.

Intermediate

Understand main points of general and simple literary texts. Handle most situations during a stay in Spain. Produce coherent texts on familiar topics, describing experiences, events, desires and aspirations.

Upper-Intermediate

Provide detailed information on general topics, express yourself fluently and write long texts. Use communicative strategies in different contexts. Debate and express opinions, defending points of view with pros and cons.

Advanced

Usually taught through private classes. Express yourself fluently and spontaneously. Make flexible and effective use of language for social, academic, and professional purposes.

Proficiency

Taught through private classes. Express yourself spontaneously with great fluency and precision. Speak at native level while developing a global perspective of Spanish culture.
