How not to give up when you want to quit

When you want to give up studying, the key is not to force yourself to study more, but to refocus your motivation, reduce the mental load and take small steps. Identify the root of your block and use these practical strategies to regain control. The urge to throw in the towel often comes from a build-up of tasks. You can try the Pomodoro technique: work in 25-minute blocks and rest for 5. This makes any task feel less daunting. Reducing your goal is also a good option. Step by step. Prioritise your health: in times of high stress, your brain needs to switch off. Make sure you sleep for seven to eight hours, go for a walk outdoors and stay active. It will also be very useful to reconnect with your "why". Ask yourself what made you begin those studies in the first place. Write down your main goals and keep them in view.

What doors will completing this stage open for you in the long term? Do you want to study to integrate more fully, or are there other reasons?

Also, do not hesitate to seek support: speak openly with someone you trust or find study groups nearby, such as at your local library.

And of course, do not forget the reward: acknowledge your daily progress, however small. Treat yourself, listen to music, look in the mirror and congratulate yourself; go out with friends when you meet your weekly goals.
