A simple method to learn faster
The simplest and most effective way to learn Spanish is daily active immersion and contextual learning: change the language on your devices, use spaced-repetition apps, listen to podcasts and practise with native tutors. Focus on useful phrases and vocabulary in real contexts, such as routines or travel, rather than isolated words. Spend 10–15 minutes each day consuming native content — podcasts or series — and speaking. Combine this with the "learning islands" technique, in which you master specific topics, and focus on the 1,000 most common words.
Key methods for learning quickly:
Daily 1% immersion (10 minutes): studying for a consistent ten minutes every day is better than two hours once a week.
Learning islands: create small "islands" of knowledge, or topics, such as "at the restaurant", "travelling" or "making friends". Learn complete phrases for each topic rather than isolated words.
Active listening: listen to music or podcasts, or watch series, even with subtitles, to get your ear used to the real rhythm of the language.
Speak from day one: do not wait until you know grammar. Take every opportunity to speak with native speakers.
High-frequency focus: concentrate on the most used words and grammatical structures, which will let you communicate quickly.

Technique: spaced repetition of useful phrases rather than vocabulary lists.
